Penny & Ben’s Wedding at Beaulieu Abbey Church, New Forest, Hampshire

Congratulations to Penny & Ben’s wedding at the Beaulieu Abbey Church in the New Forest in Hampshire. I guess most people know the New Forest and at Autumn time this place is even prettier. Now, the wedding obviously didn’t take place between the trees in the Forest but in the Abbey Church. Nonetheless, the Autumn feeling was all around. Winter (or in this case late Autumn) weddings are always a bit of a challenge for us photographers as most of the celebration happens during darkness. Anyway, Penny and Ben had a great day with lots of fun in and outside (in the light and in the dark). We wish them all the best for their future.

Michelle & Phil Wedding, Manor Barn Buriton, Hampshire

Michelle and Phil are boat lovers and I did their pre-wedding shoot at the marina down in Southampton. I’m surprised they didn’t celebrate their wedding on a boat – but I guess it would have had to be a very big one. Anyway, the wedding took place at the Manor Barn in the lovely village of Buriton near Petersfield in Hampshire. And thinking about it I guess it was a wise choice doing the wedding there (as I get easily sea si…unwell). Michelle is a very professional lady but it’s lovely to see how her eyes reveal a little and excited girl while arriving at the church and walking down the aisle. Both had a great day (and I did too). Best wishes to Michelle & Phil.

Melanie & Paul, Wedding, Froxfield, Petersfield, Hampshire

Melanie and Paul got married in the village church of Froxfield in Hampshire. A perfect setting with lots of bluebells around the church yard. One simply has to take the opportunity and combine the two – bluebells and a beautiful couple. After the church it went in a nice vintage Rolls Royce down to Petersfield Folly Wine Bar. A popular place for all sorts of parties and get togethers. Melanie has all it need to be a great model – that’s why there are so many images of her (no worries, Paul does appear as well). Best wishes to Melanie and Paul.

Charlotte & Rob, Wedding, Manor Barn Buriton, Hampshire

Congratulations to Charlotte and Rob’s wedding. I love working at the Manor Barn in Buriton. It’s a wonderful venue for the couple, guests and me as the photographer. There are so many nice opportunities for doing some lovely shots. Having said that, photographing Charlotte was a real pleasure and she looks stunning no matter where you photograph her. It was a real fun day and I bet Charlotte and Rob will never forget it.

Congratulation to Rebecca and Neil’s wedding. The wedding took place in the beautiful St. Mary Church in Easebourne near Cowdray Castle (the church where sometimes celebrities are getting married). Revd Derek Welsman did a lovely celebration with lots of humour and atmosphere – what a great place to get married. After that all met at the golf club to enjoy a fantastic wedding breakfast and a fun day.

Emma & Chris, Wedding at St Mary Magdalen Church Sheet and Solent Hotel Whiteley, Hampshire

What a fun wedding! Emma and Chris are certainly a lively fun couple and their wedding had a great atmosphere. After an emotional ceremony at St Mary Magdalen Church in Sheet Emma and Chris were driven in an old Rolls Royce to the Solent Hotel Whitely in Hampshire. There were a lot of fun activities waiting for the guests like roulette and blackjack, a caricaturist and a chocolate fountain. For the girls a running theme of the day was what was under Chris’s kilt. Have a look at the last picture in this blog – can you guess who it is?

Rebecca & Graham singing in the rain

This wedding was certainly different. Rebecca and Graham got married in the tiny St John’s Church in Farley, Chamberlain, build in the middle of the 12th century. Very special indeed and it was really cosy with about 130 guests streaming into the church. The rain after the ceremony was actually quite refreshing. Driving back with a nice car the reception was held at a private ground near Romsey. A lot of hard work had gone into preparing the venue which was where Rebecca grew up and it was a beautiful place to celebrate their marriage surrounded by wheat fields and countryside. A big tent was set up in the garden and it felt like walking on a boat as the ground was so slopy. The first thing you saw after entering the venue was a ice cream van – which was very popular with all ages. The old stables were converted into a bar and darts room and there was a first for me….Morris Men dancing at the reception! Great fun and Rebecca and Graham joined in (Graham of course wanting a larger stick before he was happy). The atmosphere was fantastic – no one really bothered about the rain and why should they – it was Rebecca and Graham’s great day and there was plenty of fun and ice cream.

Jo & Andy’s Wedding at the Manor Barn in Buriton

Jo and Andy chose their wedding day very wisely as the day before and the day after it was raining. The ceremony took place in St Mary Magdalen Church in Sheet – unfortunately I was not allowed to take photos during the wedding service but I managed to sneak a few in when the vicar wasn’t looking. The wedding reception was at The Manor Barn in Buriton – it is a beautiful wedding venue in a picturesque village in Hampshire. Everyone was very happy and relaxed and I enjoyed sharing the day with Jo, Andy and little Lucy. I must say that the desserts looked fabulous – huge portions of chocolate mousse but as usual I was so focused on taking pictures that I didn’t get to try any….probably for the best considering my expanding waistline.

Marie & Steve’s Wedding, beware of the people with hats!

Marie and Steve got married in the All Saints Church in Catherington. The inside looks very atmospheric with all its stain glass windows, but as so often with these lovely places it was quite a challenge in terms of the available light. Marie and Steve had chosen a most unusual wedding venue – in a school library – but it wasn’t just any old library but the one at Ditcham Park School in Hampshire with beautiful wood panelling and huge windows – a photographers dream!. The lively guests were all enjoying themselves along with canapés and jazz music – my favourite. One particular group seemed to enjoy themselves even more by swapping hats – beware, men in hats can look very attractive (and obviously give some nice opportunities for photography). We managed to dodge the rain and think I managed some beautiful images of Marie and Steve.
Ahh yes, and at every wedding there are always people who are camera shy but I get them in the end (you know who you are)!
