Christmas is over and I’m sure lots of you have got a nice fancy (D)SLR camera. What now? Overwhelmed by all these buttons and at the end using only auto mode? Hurray! Finally I have set up my new darkroom! And now it is about getting permission from my wife to work in it until 5am. Although I use digital for my commercial work, for my personal projects I still use traditional black and white film. Over the years I have taught many students darkroom skills and it is always a pleasure to see how much people enjoy it.

I am now looking forward to sharing my passion with people interested in traditional black and white film and print processing and offering 121s or a max of 2 students on my one day workshops in Petersfield, Hampshire. The workshop is for anyone interested in black and white film photography who would like to learn how to develop film and create their own prints using various darkroom techniques.

I can promise you that it is a magical feeling to have your first darkroom print in your hand!
