An old photographer saying states that working with children and animals is the most difficult (mildly speaking). Well, I love it! Yes it’s not always easy as kids have their own mind and agenda. And at South Harting Toddler Group the kids are particularly busy. Imagine you are just trying to take some photographs of siblings (even more of a challenge) and suddenly a little fellow pops up in front of your lens and wants its photograph taken. What do you do? The mum is happily chatting away with other mums somewhere so there is no rescue from this side. The siblings mum is a bit embarrassed and doesn’t know what to do. Well, you just have to go with the flow and continue to take pictures trying not to get all of them into one frame. That’s the whole fun of it.
I don’t like sitting children on a chair and asking them to say ‘cheese’. I prefer to let them do their own thing and try to capture the situation as it arises. I hope I managed to get some nice and happy shots of all the kids.
